By: Creighton S.B. No. 3013 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT relating to financial disclosures. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 572.023(b)(14), Government Code, is amended to read as follows: (14) identification of each blind trust that complies with Subsection (c), including: (A) [the category of the fair market value of the trust; (B)] the date the trust was created; (B)[(C)] the name and address of the trustee; and (C)[(D)] a statement signed by the trustee, under penalty of perjury, stating that: (i) the trustee has not revealed any information to the individual, except information that may be disclosed under Subdivision (8); and (ii) to the best of the trustee's knowledge, the trust complies with this section; SECTION 2. Section 572.031(b), Government Code, is amended to read as follows: (b) If the commission determines that an individual has failed to file the statement in compliance with this subchapter, the commission shall send a written notice to the individual [statement of the determination to the appropriate prosecuting attorneys of the state]. SECTION 3. The Section 572.032(a-1), Government Code, as amended by Acts 2017, 85th Leg., R.S., Ch. 34 (S.B. 1576), Sec. 15 is amended to read as follows: (a-1) Before permitting a member of the public to view a financial statement filed under this subchapter or providing a copy of the statement to a member of the public, the commission shall remove from the statement, if applicable, the home address of a state officer, a partisan or independent candidate for an office as an elected officer, and a state party chair[: (1) a judge or justice; (2) a member of the governing board or executive head of the Texas Civil Commitment Office]. SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
