It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources. Local Government ImpactThere could be a cost to counties related to the election requirement for approving a reduction or reallocation of funding or resources for certain county prosecutor's offices. To the extent a county is found to be in violation of the provisions of the bill, the county would be prohibited from adopting a property tax rate that exceeds the county's no-new-revenue tax rate until the Comptroller's office determines that the county is in compliance with the provisions of the bill.
