The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined due to the lack of data necessary to identify the number of individuals who would be ineligible for community supervision. The bill would exclude eligibility for both community supervision and deferred adjudication community supervision for illegal aliens as defined in the bill. The Office of Court Administration indicates that the fiscal impact of the bill cannot be determined, and that the number of affected individuals may be significant. Local Government ImpactWhile the number of individuals who would be disqualified for community supervision is unknown, the bill's provisions may result in additional demands on local correctional resources, some potentially significant depending on the unit of local government, due to increased lengths of confinement.
