Amends Chapter 752, Government Code, by adding Subchapter D, as follows: SUBCHAPTER D. STUDY ON IMPACT OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION Sec. 752.101. ANNUAL IMMIGRATION IMPACT STUDY. (a) Requires the Office of the Governor (governor's office) to conduct an annual study on the economic, environmental, and financial impact of illegal immigration in this state. (b) Authorizes the governor's office to collaborate or contract with a state or federal agency, a political subdivision, an institution of higher education, or a nonprofit organization or other private entity to assist in conducting the study required by this section. Sec. 752.102. BIENNIAL REPORT. Requires the governor's office, not later than December 1 of each even-numbered year, to prepare and submit to the lieutenant governor and legislature a report containing the results of each study conducted in the preceding two years under this subchapter. SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2025.
