LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 89TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION April 7, 2025 TO: Honorable Lois W. Kolkhorst, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: SB912 by Blanco (Relating to the verification of health care practitioner continuing education compliance through the establishment of continuing education tracking systems.), As Introduced No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would require each healthcare-related occupational licensing agency to establish a continuing education tracking system for use by and accessible to healthcare practitioners, licensing agency staff, and continuing education providers. The bill would prohibit such a system from requiring any licensing agency expenditure. This estimate assumes that agencies impacted by the bill's provisions would establish the system with existing resources or procure a vendor who can provide the continuing education tracking system at no cost, with license holders, continuing education providers, or both presumably paying for access. Local Government ImpactNo fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
