The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $191,689. The joint resolution would propose an amendment to Article I of the Texas Constitution to deny bail pending trial for illegal aliens accused of committing a felony offense where a judge or magistrate has determined probable cause.It is assumed that any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant.   Local Government ImpactAccording to information provided by the Office of Court Administration, the resolution could generate additional hearings before bail can be denied and could also increase jail populations, resulting in increased but indeterminate costs to applicable units of local government.
