 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Wichita Falls district engineer Michael Beaver is
 retiring from the Texas Department of Transportation on
 February 28, 2025, drawing to a close an exceptional career with
 the agency that has spanned more than three decades; and
 WHEREAS, A second-generation employee of TxDOT, Mike Beaver
 graduated from Midwestern State University with a bachelor's degree
 in manufacturing engineering technology in November 1993, and he
 began his career with the department later that month as a design
 technician for the Wichita Falls district office; he gained
 valuable experience in roadway and bridge design, right of way
 acquisition, and utility relocation before obtaining his
 professional engineering license in 2003; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Beaver went on to be named the director of
 transportation planning and development for the Wichita Falls
 district in 2015, and he assumed his current role as the district
 engineer in 2018, overseeing the design, construction, and
 maintenance of the transportation system in a nine-county region;
 over the years, he has guided several significant projects,
 including the reconfigurations of U.S. Routes 277 and 82, the
 design of the only four-level direct connect interchange in the
 district, and the upgrade of roadways in Clay and Montague
 Counties; moreover, he has coordinated with out-of-state agencies
 and the Chickasaw Nation on the expansion of Interstate 35 in Cooke
 County and Oklahoma; along the way, he has earned a sterling
 reputation by cultivating strong working relationships with office
 and roadside staff, county officials, and concerned citizens; and
 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Beaver benefits from the
 love and support of his wife, Tish, who also works for TxDOT, and
 their five sons; and
 WHEREAS, The leadership, expertise, and commitment to
 excellence demonstrated by Mike Beaver have greatly benefited the
 people of Texas and earned him the respect and admiration of his
 colleagues, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his exemplary
 record of achievement; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
 hereby congratulate Michael Beaver on his retirement as the Wichita
 Falls district engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation
 and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Beaver as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 Senate.
