No. 165 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss with the tragic passing of Sarah Bottecelli Koller on August 25, 2024, at the age of 40; and WHEREAS, The daughter of Charles A. Koller and Paula Bottecelli, Sarah Koller was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on July 16, 1984, and she grew up with the companionship of four younger siblings, Paul, David, Rachel, and Leah; she cherished the relationship she shared with her partner, Steven Konarik; and WHEREAS, Passionate about bringing people together, Ms. Koller opened a coffee shop in Columbus, Texas; she further distinguished herself as a dedicated champion for breast cancer patients, and she contributed to advocacy efforts at the State Capitol; she also participated in cross-country biking events to raise awareness and funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; an avid supporter of animal welfare organizations, she frequently fostered dogs; and WHEREAS, Above all else, Ms. Koller treasured time spent with her loved ones, and she was a source of support and inspiration to all who knew her; her many hobbies included swimming, running marathons, and cheering on her favorite baseball teams, and she enjoyed attending rodeos and looking at Christmas lights during the holiday season; and WHEREAS, Although Sarah Koller is greatly missed, her family and friends will forever cherish their memories of her warm and caring nature, her generosity, and her enthusiasm for life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Sarah Bottecelli Koller and extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn her passing; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sarah Koller.
