 SENATE RESOLUTION
 WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort
 those saddened by the passing of Patricia Rose Manning of Alpine
 on September 8, 2024, at the age of 72; and
 WHEREAS, Patty Manning was born to William Francis Manning
 III and Lillie Frances Drain Manning in Dallas on February 9,
 1952, and she grew up with the companionship of two brothers,
 Michael and Robert; in 1975, she graduated with a bachelor's
 degree from Baylor University and went on to earn her master's
 degree from North Texas State University seven years later; after
 settling in Dallas, she established a lawn business,
 Yardwork/Artwork; and
 WHEREAS, In the early 1990s, Ms. Manning undertook
 graduate studies at Sul Ross State University, earning a master's
 degree in biology; she then began a tenure with SRSU that spanned
 nearly two decades, overseeing the campus's experimental growing
 plots, greenhouses, and vineyard; upon her retirement, she and
 her partner, Cyndi Wimberly, started a native plant nursery, Twin
 Sisters Natives, where she pursued her talents in native plant
 propagation; in addition, she began work as a field botanist,
 focusing on the Southwest desert; and
 WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Patty
 Manning will remember the way she touched their lives with her
 warmth, kindness, and humor, and she will forever hold a
 treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
 hereby pay tribute to the memory of Patricia Rose Manning and
 extend deepest condolences to the members of her family: to her
 partner and spouse of 30 years, Cyndi Wimberly; to her children,
 Marley Kim Boyd Jr. and his wife, Tiffany Flores-Boyd, Mary
 Shannon Boyd Mois, and Jonathan Matthew Boyd and his wife, Dana
 Falconberry; to her granddaughters, Alex Kate Flores and Addison
 Flores-Boyd; to her brother, Robert Manning, and his husband,
 Jason Hodges; and to her many other relatives and friends; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
 this day, it do so in memory of Patty Manning.
