 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Lubbock Monterey Chapter of AMBUCS celebrated
 its Visibility Month in February 2025; and
 WHEREAS, AMBUCS is a national nonprofit organization that
 provides free therapeutic Amtrykes to children and adults,
 including veterans; these adaptive tricycles can be customized to
 meet the unique needs of each individual, thereby enhancing their
 mobility and helping them achieve a higher degree of independence;
 and
 WHEREAS, The Lubbock Monterey Chapter of AMBUCS was created
 in 1960 by a group of dedicated men and women who gathered at the
 Cactus Inn with the hopes of assisting their community through acts
 of service; over the years, the chapter has expanded to provide
 additional care to those in need; and
 WHEREAS, On average, Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS gives away 30
 therapeutic tricycles each fiscal year; the organization also
 provides tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships to therapy
 students in the School of Health Professions at Texas Tech
 University Health Sciences Center to help further the education of
 those who seek to assist individuals with disabilities; in 2024,
 the chapter donated more than 50 tricycles and raised over $60,000
 in scholarships; and
 WHEREAS, Over the past six and a half decades, Lubbock
 Monterey AMBUCS has made a meaningful difference in the lives of
 numerous Texans with mobility needs, and the organization is to be
 commended for its many achievements; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
 hereby honor the Lubbock Monterey Chapter of AMBUCS on the occasion
 of its Visibility Month and extend to all those affiliated with the
 organization sincere best wishes for continued success in their
 important work; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS as an expression of high
 regard by the Texas Senate.
