 SENATE RESOLUTION
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize the citizens of Hood County, who are celebrating Hood
 County Day at the State Capitol on February 6, 2025; and
 WHEREAS, Hood County was established in 1866 by an act of
 the 11th Texas Legislature; the county seat, Granbury, is
 renowned for its charm, historic downtown, and dynamic
 community, and Hood County is noted for the area's rich land
 well-suited for agricultural purposes; and
 WHEREAS, The county offers a variety of scenic locales,
 including Lake Granbury, which was a driving force behind Hood
 County's population increase and is a popular destination for
 fishing, boating, and other recreational activities; and
 WHEREAS, Hood County is home to the 355th Judicial
 District Court, which is presided over by Judge Bryan Bufkin, and
 Ron Massingill serves as Hood County judge; the county boasts
 significant cultural and historical landmarks, including the
 Hood County Courthouse Historic District, the stately Granbury
 Opera House, Granbury Live, and the Acton Cemetery, where
 Elizabeth Crockett, the second wife of Davy Crockett, is buried;
 and
 WHEREAS, Hood County Day at the Capitol is indeed a fitting
 opportunity for city and county leaders, members of the business
 community, and residents of Hood County to join together at the
 State Capitol to celebrate their county and its rich history as
 they look ahead toward its bright future; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
 Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of Hood County on their
 many contributions to the prosperity of the Lone Star State and
 extend to all best wishes for a successful and memorable Hood
 County Day; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
 honor of this special occasion.
