SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 313
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
join in celebrating March 25, 2025, as Paws Fur Help Day at the
State Capitol; and
WHEREAS, Established in 2022, Paws Fur Help is a nonprofit
organization founded on a mission to protect and advocate for
vulnerable companion animals in Hidalgo County; the organization
is guided by a devoted board of directors and community
volunteers who work tirelessly to increase awareness and promote
regulations regarding animal welfare; and
WHEREAS, In addition to helping to educate the public, Paws
Fur Help facilitates adoption events and transportation services
for rehoming animals, collaborates with area school districts to
build and deliver dog houses to families in need, and manages a
pet food pantry that also offers medications for flea and tick
prevention; the organization works with the community to raise
funds for spaying and neutering and advocates positive change by
communicating with elected officials, attending animal-related
court cases, and lobbying for ordinances and laws that promote
the well-being and ethical treatment of animals; and
WHEREAS, Paws Fur Help has received numerous accolades
since its establishment and was recently honored with the
Community Champion Award by the Mission Chamber of Commerce; it
is a model institution for promoting animal welfare in the Lone
Star State, and all who have contributed to its success are truly
worthy of special recognition for their efforts; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
Legislature, hereby commend the dedicated volunteers and board
members of Paws Fur Help for their exemplary service on behalf of
companion animals and extend to all best wishes for a rewarding
Paws Fur Help Day at the Capitol; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
