 SENATE RESOLUTION
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Senior Deputy Mike Aleman of the Hidalgo County
 Sheriff's Office for his outstanding bravery in saving the life
 of a fellow Texan; and
 WHEREAS, While traveling home on the night of February 22,
 2025, Deputy Mike Aleman observed flames and smoke emerging from
 a mobile home in McAllen; though he was off-duty at the time, when
 he learned of a person inside the burning home, he forced entry
 and was able to pull a man to safety from the intense smoke and
 heat of the fire; the McAllen Fire Department arrived shortly
 after, and Deputy Aleman and the victim were transported to a
 local hospital where the deputy was treated for smoke inhalation
 and released; and
 WHEREAS, Thanks to the quick thinking and decisive action
 of Deputy Aleman, the victim survived the deadly fire and was
 transported to San Antonio to receive further treatment for burns
 and smoke inhalation; the mobile home was consumed by the fire
 and declared a total loss, and the incident undoubtedly would
 have proved fatal if not for Deputy Aleman's critical and timely
 rescue of the victim; and
 WHEREAS, Deputy Aleman has faced the unique challenges of
 law enforcement duty with courage and professionalism, and his
 selfless actions in this life-threatening situation reflect his
 unwavering commitment to protecting and serving the public; for
 his heroic efforts, he will be awarded the Hidalgo County
 Sheriff's Office Medal of Valor and will receive a commendation
 from the McAllen Fire Department in recognition of his
 exceptional service in the line of duty; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
 Legislature, hereby commend Senior Deputy Mike Aleman on his
 admirable and courageous actions that saved the life of a fellow
 Texan; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
