 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Residents from Collin County are gathering in Austin
 on April 1 and 2, 2025, to celebrate Collin County Days at the State
 Capitol; and
 WHEREAS, A thriving area in the heart of North Texas, Collin
 County is one of the largest and fastest-growing counties in the
 state, and it is now home to approximately 1.3 million residents;
 and
 WHEREAS, Plano is the county's largest city and the location
 of several Fortune 1000 companies; McKinney, the county seat, along
 with the towns and cities of Allen, Anna, Blue Ridge, Celina,
 Copeville, Fairview, Farmersville, Frisco, Josephine, Lavon, Lowry
 Crossing, Lucas, Melissa, Murphy, Nevada, New Hope, Parker,
 Princeton, Prosper, Richardson, Royse City, Sachse, Saint Paul, Van
 Alstyne, Weston, and Wylie make up the rest of the county and
 together are recognized for their charming blend of country and
 cosmopolitan qualities; and
 WHEREAS, Collin County's economy remains strong and vibrant
 thanks to highly skilled workers who make the county a leader in job
 growth; more than 90 percent of its workforce over the age of 25
 hold a high school diploma and about half have earned a bachelor's
 degree or higher; the county also boasts an excellent public
 education system, with a number of its campuses ranking among the
 best in the state; and
 WHEREAS, Collin County offers attractive scenery and
 excellent recreational opportunities, and its inviting, friendly
 residents are welcoming to individuals, families, and businesses;
 and
 WHEREAS, The visit to the State Capitol was organized by the
 Plano, McKinney, Frisco, and Allen Fairview Chambers of Commerce;
 the members of each association work tirelessly to improve and
 strengthen economic development and to enhance the quality of life
 in Collin County communities; and
 WHEREAS, The citizens of this notable North Texas county are
 working to preserve the best of their past even as they look forward
 to a bright and promising future, and they are sure to figure
 prominently in the growth and prosperity of the Lone Star State in
 the years ahead; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
 hereby recognize April 1 and 2, 2025, as Collin County Days at the
 State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the visiting delegation.
