SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 348 WHEREAS, The 50th anniversary of Monument Chevrolet in Pasadena was celebrated in 2024; and WHEREAS, This family-owned dealership was cofounded in 1974 by company president Carroll Smith, who benefits today from the assistance of his sons, W. C. and Brandon, who serve as vice presidents; in 1997, Mr. Smith was nominated as the TIME Dealer of the Year, and in 2006, he was named the Automotive Youth Educational Systems Dealer of the Year; and WHEREAS, Recognizing the need for sustainability, Monument Chevrolet has implemented green initiatives in an effort to reduce its carbon footprint, including energy-efficient lighting and recycling programs; these actions reflect the dealership's commitment to ensuring a cleaner planet for the generations to come; and WHEREAS, In addition to selling vehicles, the dealership has been involved in various local charities, supporting health and welfare initiatives; Monument Chevrolet also gives back to the community by providing resources to schools and sponsoring events, such as the La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce's State of the Cities Luncheon; and WHEREAS, Over the last five decades, Monument Chevrolet has continually adapted to meet the needs of its customers while maintaining its quality and service standards, and it is a pleasure to honor the company for the important role it plays in the Pasadena community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th Legislature, hereby commemorate the 50th anniversary of Monument Chevrolet and extend to Carroll Smith and his employees sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for Monument Chevrolet as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
