 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
 memories of Crystal Jeanette Goforth of Levelland, who tragically
 passed away on October 13, 2022, at the age of 38; and
 WHEREAS, The former Crystal Garrett was born in Little Rock,
 Arkansas, on December 23, 1983, to Audrey and Bobby Garrett; she
 grew up with a brother, Stephen, and two sisters, Tasha and Rebecca;
 and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Goforth embarked on a rewarding career as an
 animal control officer with the Levelland Police Department; she
 ultimately was promoted to the position of senior animal control
 officer, and over the course of her tenure, she distinguished
 herself in her responsibilities of investigating animal cruelty and
 neglect, saving animals, helping to find them homes, and addressing
 a range of other animal-related concerns; moreover, she was
 actively engaged in providing community support and outreach, and
 she earned a reputation for always going above and beyond in her
 duties; she and her partner, Jon Corder, were responding to a call
 on October 13, 2022, when their work truck was struck by another
 vehicle; Mrs. Goforth and Mr. Corder died from the injuries they
 sustained in the collision, and their dedicated service has
 continued to inspire an outpouring of prayers and sympathy from the
 community; and
 WHEREAS, Above all, Mrs. Goforth was devoted to her husband
 of 17 years, Joshua Goforth, and their son, Noah; a woman of many
 interests, she enjoyed boating, fishing, swimming, gardening,
 reading, and playing cards and board games with her family; and
 WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Crystal Goforth
 will remember the way she touched their lives with her love of
 animals and her compassionate and joyful nature, and she will
 always hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
 hereby pay tribute to the memory of Crystal Jeanette Goforth and
 extend deepest condolences to the members of her family: to her
 husband, Joshua Goforth; to her son, Noah Goforth; to her parents,
 Audrey and Bobby Garrett; to her siblings, Stephen Garrett, Tasha
 Ivie, and Rebecca Taylor; to her father-in-law, David Goforth; to
 her mother-in-law, Michelle Goforth; to her brother-in-law, Lucas
 Goforth; and to her many other relatives and friends; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
 day, it do so in memory of Crystal Goforth.
