 SENATE RESOLUTION
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize the team members of the Stephen F. Austin State
 University Sylvans for their outstanding achievement in winning
 the 66th Annual Association of Southern Forestry Clubs Conclave;
 and
 WHEREAS, Founded in 1964, the Stephen F. Austin State
 University Sylvans are a social forestry club for students that
 has a long and distinguished history of excellence in the
 practice of forestry; the Sylvans were a founding member of the
 Association of Southern Forestry Clubs in 1958, and today, the
 club continues to promote forestry education and takes part in
 competitions of forestry skills and knowledge; and
 WHEREAS, The Sylvans' victory at the 66th Annual Conclave
 marks their 19th overall title and extends their winning streak
 to seven consecutive conclaves, tying the record for the longest
 streak in the event's history; and
 WHEREAS, Competing against 13 universities in rigorous
 technical and physical forestry-related events, the Sylvans
 secured first place in physical events and fourth place in
 technical events, earning a total of 263.5 points to claim the
 championship; and
 WHEREAS, Among the Sylvans' many outstanding performances,
 a record-setting achievement in the women's crosscut event by
 Holly Parkin and Maddie Sweeten with a time of 4.69 seconds
 stands as a testament to the team's dedication and skill; and
 WHEREAS, The team's success is further highlighted by
 numerous first-place finishes, including in such categories as
 men's log chop, chain throw, pole climb, men's bowsaw, Jack and
 Jill crosscut, archery, and knife throw, demonstrating their
 dominance in the competition; and
 WHEREAS, The team's journey to the 66th Annual Conclave was
 marked by perseverance and camaraderie, and team members
 overcame challenges such as adverse weather conditions and
 extensive travel to embody the resilient spirit of Texas forestry
 professionals; and
 WHEREAS, The Sylvans continue to bring great honor to
 Stephen F. Austin State University and the State of Texas through
 their competitive success and their commitment to excellence in
 the practice of forestry; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
 Legislature, hereby commend the team members of the Stephen F.
 Austin State University Sylvans for their remarkable
 achievements and extend to all congratulations on their victory
 at the 66th Annual Association of Southern Forestry Clubs
 Conclave; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
