Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER RETIREMENT 3
BENEFITS FOR MICHAEL JANSSEN AND STE-4
VEN PASSANTINO. 5
(a) I
NGENERAL.—Notwithstanding any other provi-6
sion of law, Michael Janssen and Steven Passantino shall, 7
during any period they are employed as series 1895 offi-8
cers of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection before, 9
on, or after the date of enactment of this Act, be deemed 10
to be performing service as a law enforcement officer (as 11
that term is defined in section 8401 of title 5, United 12

States Code) under chapter 84 of such title, and shall be 1
subject to the terms and conditions applicable under such 2
chapter to such officers. 3
(b) C
REDITABLESERVICE; DEPOSIT.—Any cred-4
itable service performed before the date of enactment of 5
this Act by Michael Janssen and Steven Passantino under 6
such chapter 84 as such series 1895 officers shall be 7
deemed to be service as such a law enforcement officer, 8
but only if they meet the deposit requirements of section 9
8411(f) of such title 5 with respect to such service. 10
