To direct the Secretary of Defense to submit to the Commit-
tees on Armed Services of the Senate and House of 
Representatives a report on at-home child care programs 
of the Department of Defense, and for other purposes. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘More Child Care and 4
Jobs for Military Families Act’’. 5

SEC. 2. REPORT ON AT-HOME CHILD CARE PROGRAMS OF 1
THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE; FEASIBILITY 2
STUDY. 3
(a) R
EPORT.—Not later than 39 months after the 4
date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense 5
shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the 6
House of Representatives and the Senate a report on at- 7
home child care programs offered by each military depart-8
ment. Such report shall include— 9
(1) an identification of the number of such at- 10
home child care programs that have opened, closed, 11
or relocated during the period beginning on the date 12
of enactment of this Act and ending on the date that 13
this three years after such date; 14
(2) a summary of difficulties, if any, experi-15
enced by military spouses employed at such at-home 16
child care programs with respect to— 17
(A) obtaining necessary certifications or 18
licences; and 19
(B) opening, closing, or relocating such an 20
at-home child care program; and 21
(3) a summary of effects, if any, that the open-22
ing, closing, or relocation of such an at-home child 23
care program has on the employment rate of mili-24
tary spouses residing in geographic proximity to 25
such at-home child care program. 26

(b) FEASIBILITYSTUDY.— 1
(1) I
N GENERAL.—The Secretary of Defense 2
shall conduct a feasibility study on— 3
(A) standardizing the requirements of each 4
military department relating to licensing and 5
certification for at-home child care providers; 6
(B) removing barriers, if any, to the ex-7
pansion of at-home child care programs de-8
scribed in subsection (a); and 9
(C) supporting the employment of military 10
spouses in such at-home child care programs. 11
(2) R
EPORT REQUIRED.—Not later than 180 12
days after the date of the submission of the report 13
under subsection (a), the Secretary of Defense shall 14
submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the 15
House of Representatives and the Senate a report 16
that includes the findings of such feasibility study. 17
