To eliminate the position of the Chief Diversity Officer of
the Department of Defense, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Restoring Military 4
Focus Act’’. 5
SEC. 2. ELIMINATION OF THE CHIEF DIVERSITY OFFICER 6
OF THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE. 7
(a) R
EPEAL OFPOSITION.—Section 147 of title 10, 8
United States Code, is repealed. 9

(b) CONFORMINGREPEAL.—Section 913 of the Wil-1
liam M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense Authoriza-2
tion Act for Fiscal Year 2021 (Public Law 116–283; 134 3
Stat. 3802) is repealed. 4
SEC. 3. PROHIBITION ON ESTABLISHMENT OF SIMILAR PO-5
SITIONS. 6
No Federal funds may be obligated or expended to 7
establish a position within the Department of Defense that 8
is the same as or substantially similar to— 9
(1) the position of Chief Diversity Officer, as 10
described in section 147 of title 10, United States 11
Code, as such section was in effect before the date 12
of the enactment of this Act; or 13
(2) the position of Senior Advisor for Diversity 14
and Inclusion, as described in section 913(b) of the 15
William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense Au-16
thorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 (Public Law 17
116–283; 134 Stat. 3803), as such section was in ef-18
fect before the date of the enactment of this Act. 19
