To repeal the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act of 2020
and the Children’s Gasoline Burn Prevention Act, and
for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Gas Can Freedom Act 4
of 2025’’. 5
SEC. 2. REPEALS. 6

2020.—The Portable Fuel Container Safety Act of 2020 8
(15 U.S.C. 2056d) is repealed. 9

U.S.C. 2056 note) is repealed. 3

EGULATIONS.— 4
(1) E
FFECT OF REPEAL.—A regulation promul-5
gated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission 6
pursuant to an Act repealed by subsection (a) or (b) 7
shall have no force or effect. 8
(2) P
ROHIBITION.—Notwithstanding any other 9
provision of law, the Consumer Product Safety Com-10
mission may not promulgate any regulation that re-11
quires— 12
(A) a flame mitigation device in a portable 13
fuel container; or 14
(B) a portable gasoline container to con-15
form to child-resistance requirements. 16
