R. 144 AN ACT To provide that the Federal Reports Elimination and Sunset Act of 1995 does not apply to certain reports required to be submitted by the Tennessee Valley Authority, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 2 •HR 144 EH SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 1 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Tennessee Valley Au-2 thority Salary Transparency Act’’. 3 SEC. 2. SALARY DISCLOSURE; EXCEPTION TO REPORT 4 ELIMINATION. 5 Section 9 of the Tennessee Valley Authority Act of 6 1933 (16 U.S.C. 831h) is amended— 7 (1) in subsection (a), by striking ‘‘a financial 8 statement’’ and all that follows through ‘‘$1,500 a 9 year’’ and inserting ‘‘a report of the total number of 10 employees at the management level or above, to in-11 clude all executives and board members, that shall 12 include the names, salaries, and duties of such em-13 ployees, that are receiving compensation at or great-14 er than the maximum rate of basic pay for grade 15 GS–15 of the General Schedule’’; 16 (2) by striking all that precedes ‘‘The Board 17 shall’’ and inserting the following: 18 ‘‘SEC. 9. FINANCIAL REPORTING. 19 ‘‘(a) R EPORT ONCOMPENSATION.— 20 ‘‘(1) I N GENERAL.—’’; and 21 (3) in subsection (a), by adding at the end the 22 following: 23 ‘‘(2) E XEMPTION.—The information concerning 24 salaries of employees of the Corporation contained 25 3 •HR 144 EH in, or filed with, the report described in paragraph 1 (1) is exempt from— 2 ‘‘(A) disclosure under section 552(b)(3) of 3 title 5, United States Code; and 4 ‘‘(B) the requirements of the Access to 5 Congressionally Mandated Reports Act (Public 6 Law 117–263).’’. 7 Passed the House of Representatives January 15, 2025.
