To prohibit certain businesses and persons from purchasing
real estate adjacent to covered Federal lands in the
United States, and for other purposes.

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 1
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘No American Land 2
for Communist China Act’’. 3
SEC. 2. PROHIBITION ON THE PURCHASE OF REAL ESTATE 4
LOCATED ADJACENT TO COVERED FEDERAL 5
LANDS IN THE UNITED STATES BY NATION-6
ALS OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA. 7
(a) I
NGENERAL.—Notwithstanding any other provi-8
sion of law, the President shall take such actions as may 9
be necessary to prohibit the purchase of real estate located 10
adjacent to covered Federal land in the United States 11
by— 12
(1) any agent of the Government of the Peo-13
ple’s Republic of China; or 14
(2) any business with respect to which the Gov-15
ernment of the People’s Republic of China, directly 16
or indirectly through any contract, arrangement, un-17
derstanding, relationship, or otherwise, owns 25 per-18
cent or more of the equity interests of the business. 19
(b) D
EFINITIONS.—In this section— 20
(1) the term ‘‘United States’’ means the several 21
States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth 22
of Puerto Rico, the Commonwealth of the Northern 23
Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Guam, the 24
United States Virgin Islands, and any other terri-25
tory or possession of the United States; and 26

(2) the term ‘‘covered Federal lands’’ means— 1
(A) land owned by the United States and 2
under the jurisdiction of— 3
(i) the Secretary of the Interior; 4
(ii) the Secretary of Defense; 5
(iii) the Secretary of Agriculture, with 6
respect to land managed by the Forest 7
Service; and 8
(iv) the Secretary of Energy; or 9
(B) land that is Indian country under sec-10
tion 1151 of title 18, United States Code. 11
