To authorize the extension of nondiscriminatory treatment
(normal trade relations treatment) to products of Uzbekistan.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Uzbekistan Normalized 4
Trade Act’’. 5
SEC. 2. TERMINATION OF APPLICATION OF TITLE IV OF 6
THE TRADE ACT OF 1974 TO PRODUCTS OF 7
UZBEKISTAN. 8
(a) P
RESIDENTIALDETERMINATIONS AND EXTEN-9
SION OFNONDISCRIMINATORY TREATMENT.—Notwith-10

standing any provision of title IV of the Trade Act of 1974 1
(19 U.S.C. 2431 et seq.), the President may— 2
(1) determine that such title should no longer 3
apply to Uzbekistan; and 4
(2) after making a determination under para-5
graph (1) with respect to Uzbekistan, proclaim the 6
extension of nondiscriminatory treatment (normal 7
trade relations treatment) to the products of Uzbek-8
istan. 9
(b) T
ERMINATION OF APPLICABILITY OF TITLE 10
IV.—On and after the date on which the President ex-11
tends nondiscriminatory treatment to the products of Uz-12
bekistan pursuant to subsection (a), title IV of the Trade 13
Act of 1974 (19 U.S.C. 2431 et seq.) shall cease to apply 14
to Uzbekistan. 15
(c) E
FFECTIVEDATE.—This section shall take effect 16
on the date on which the President certifies to Congress 17
that Uzbekistan has acceded to the Marrakesh Agreement 18
Establishing the World Trade Organization and is a Mem-19
ber of the World Trade Organization. 20
