sure to radiation during nuclear medicine procedures,
and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Nuclear Medicine Clar-4
ification Act of 2025’’. 5

SEC. 2. MEDICAL EVENT REPORTING OF UNINTENDED IR-1
RADIATION. 2
(a) R
EVISION OFREGULATIONSREQUIRED.—Not 3
later than 120 days after the date of enactment of this 4
Act, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission shall revise sec-5
tion 35.3045(a)(1) of title 10, Code of Federal Regula-6
tions, by adding at the end the following: 7
‘‘(iv) A dose that is due to an extravasation and ex-8
ceeds— 9
‘‘(A) 0.5 Sv (50 rem) dose equivalent to the 5 cubic 10
centimeter volume of tissue receiving the highest absorbed 11
dose during residence time; or 12
‘‘(B) 0.5 Sv (50 rem) shallow dose equivalent to the 13
contiguous 10 square centimeters of skin receiving the 14
highest absorbed dose during residence time.’’. 15
(b) E
FFECTIVEDATE.—The revision required under 16
subsection (a) shall take effect on the date that is 18 17
months after the date of enactment of this Act. 18
