To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to sunset
the Federal income tax on unemployment compensation.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. TERMINATION OF TAX ON UNEMPLOYMENT 3
COMPENSATION. 4
(a) I
NGENERAL.—Section 85 of the Internal Rev-5
enue Code of 1986 is amended by striking subsection (c) 6
and inserting the following new subsection: 7
‘‘(c) T
ERMINATION OF INCLUSION INGROSSIN-8
COME.—This section shall not apply to taxable years be-9
ginning after December 31, 2024.’’. 10

(b) EFFECTIVEDATE.—The amendment made by 1
this section shall apply to amounts received after Decem-2
ber 31, 2024, in taxable years ending after such date. 3
