A BILL
To prohibit funding to the Government of the Republic of
Honduras.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Honduras Obstinately 4
Neglects Defense and Risks Alienating Security Act’’ or 5
‘‘HONDURAS Act’’. 6
SEC. 2. PROHIBITION OF FUNDING. 7
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, begin-8
ning after the redeployment of United States military and 9
civilian personnel from Soto Cano Air Base in Honduras 10
as a result of the refusal or unwillingness of the Govern-11

ment of the Republic of Honduras to host such personnel, 1
the President is authorized to suspend all assistance to 2
the Republic of Honduras, to include any assistance ex-3
tended under the May 20, 1954, bilateral military assist-4
ance agreement between the United States and Honduras 5
and any subsequent amendments to that agreement. 6
