costs relating to servicing the public debt, and for other

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 1
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Cost Estimates Im-2
provement Act’’. 3
SEC. 2. CBO AND JCT ESTIMATES TO INCLUDE DEBT SERV-4
ICING COSTS. 5
(a) I
NGENERAL.—The Congressional Budget and 6
Impoundment Control Act of 1974 (2 U.S.C. 621 et seq.) 7
is amended by inserting after section 402 the following: 8

ESTIMATES TO INCLUDE DEBT SERVICING COSTS 9

EC. 403. Any estimate prepared by the Director 10
of the Congressional Budget Office under section 402, and 11
any estimate prepared by the Joint Committee on Tax-12
ation, shall include, to the extent practicable, the costs (if 13
any) of servicing the public debt.’’. 14
(b) C
LERICALAMENDMENT.—The table of contents 15
of such Act is amended by inserting after the item relating 16
to section 402 the following: 17
‘‘403. Estimates to include debt servicing costs.’’.
