Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. EFFECT ON ENTIRE PROGRAM OF TERMINATION OF 1 OR REFUSAL TO GRANT OR TO CONTINUE AS-2 SISTANCE. 3 Section 602 of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 4 U.S.C. 2000d–1) is amended, in paragraph (1) of the 5 third sentence, by striking ‘‘shall be limited in its effect 6 to the particular program, or part thereof, in which such 7 noncompliance has been so found,’’ and inserting ‘‘shall 8 apply to the entire program or activity in which such non-9 compliance has been so found,’’. 10 SEC. 3. RECOUPING CERTAIN PAYMENTS OF FEDERAL FI-11 NANCIAL ASSISTANCE. 12 Section 602 of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 13 U.S.C. 2000d–1) is amended, in the third sentence— 14 (1) by redesignating paragraph (2) as para-15 graph (3); and 16 (2) by inserting after ‘‘found,’’ the following: 17 ‘‘(2) by requiring a recipient to repay the amount of 18 any Federal financial assistance provided to the re-19 cipient for a program or activity for a fiscal year 20 during which the recipient is found (in accordance 21 with the procedures described in paragraph (1)) to 22 be in such noncompliance concerning the program or 23 activity (without regard to whether the Federal fi-24 nancial assistance has been expended), which shall 25 be collected as a claim of the United States Govern-26 VerDate Sep 11 2014 01:06 Mar 27, 2025 Jkt 059200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\S1069.IS S1069 ssavage on LAPJG3WLY3PROD with BILLS 3 •S 1069 IS ment in accordance with chapter 37 of title 31, 1 United States Code,’’. 2 SEC. 4.
