To amend title 18, United States Code, to improve the
Federal carjacking statute.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Federal Carjacking 4
Enforcement Act’’. 5
SEC. 2. MOTOR VEHICLES. 6
Section 2119 of title 18, United States Code, is 7
amended— 8

(1) in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by 1
striking ‘‘, with the intent to cause death or serious 2
bodily harm’’ and inserting ‘‘knowingly’’; and 3
(2) in paragraph (3), by striking ‘‘if death re-4
sults,’’ and inserting ‘‘if the motor vehicle is taken 5
with the intent to cause death or serious bodily 6
harm, and death results,’’. 7
