Resolved by the Senate (the House of Representatives 1 concurring), 2 SECTION 1. HONORING JAMES EARL CARTER, JR. 3 (a) L YING INSTATE INROTUNDA.—In recognition 4 of the long and distinguished service rendered to the Na-5 tion and to the world by the late James Earl Carter, Jr., 6 the 39th President of the United States, his remains shall 7 be permitted to lie in state in the rotunda of the Capitol 8 from January 7, 2025 until January 9, 2025.
