8General Description:
9 This bill addresses the taking or pursuit of bison.

22Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
23 Section 1. Section 23-19-50 is enacted to read:
24 23-19-50. Year round hunting permit for bison.
25 (1) Subject to the requirements of this section, the division shall issue a 365-day permit
26to an individual to take or pursue a bison through any legal means if:
27 (a) the taking or pursuing occurs on land that is not covered by a bison management

28plan adopted by the director of the division;
29 (b) the individual pays the applicable fee set in accordance with Section 63J-1-504; and
30 (c) the individual is otherwise eligible to take or pursue big game if issued a permit.
31 (2) A permit issued under this section or an individual issued a permit under this
32section is subject to the requirements of this title for hunting big game except for requirements
33related to seasons.
