Enactment of this Legislation could increase revenues to the newly created Utah Wildfire Fund by
an estimated average of $13,440,700 starting in FY 2026 from fire suppression reimbursements and
settlement proceeds and transfers made by the Division of Finance. This Legislation appropriates
$150,022,500 one-time in FY 2026 from the Wildfire Suppression Fund, Wildland-urban Interface
Prevention, Preparedness, and Mitigation Fund, or the final balance of each of these three accounts,
into the Utah Wildfire Fund.

Enactment of this Legislation could increase General Fund expenditures by $900 one-time in FY 2025
and decrease costs by ($3,600) ongoing for the Department of Government Operations starting in
FY 2026 from the General Fund to close the Wildfire Suppression Fund, Wildland-urban Interface

2025/01/28 10:08, Lead Analyst: Lacey Moore, Attorney: Owen, P. Prevention, Preparedness, and Mitigation Fund, and Wildland Fire Preparedness Grants Fund, and
create the Utah Wildfire Fund. This legislation transfers $150,022,500 in total one-time in FY 2026, or
the final balance of each of the funds, from the repealed accounts into the Utah Wildfire Fund. Lastly,
enactment of this Legislation could increase expenditures from the newly created Utah Wildfire Fund
by $763,000 ongoing for rehabilitation efforts as part of Wildfire costs.
