Whereas,the11th-seededvarsityathleticteaminanannualinterscholasticplayoffseriesseldom
anticipatesachampionshipgameberth,butinthe2024DivisionIVgirls’soccercompetition,thatwas
thesurprisingresultfortheRichfordRockets,whodemonstratedtheirtruetalentwhentheyfacedthe
top-rankedandundefeatedWestRutlandGoldenHordeinanexcitingseasonfinaleatRutlandHigh
School’sfield, and
Whereas,thrilledtohaveastoundedtheirsupporters,theRocketsaimedtoprovetheirjourneytothis
specialgamewouldbehappilymemorable,and
Whereas,despitetrailing2–0atthemid-gamebreak,theRocketsplayedsuperblyduringthesecond
half;first,scoringlessthantwominutesafterplayresumed;then,atthemidpointoftheconcluding
half;andfinally,with13:57remainingofregulationtime,allthewhileastheRichforddefense
preventedWestRutlandfromincreasingitssideofthescore, and
Whereas,theRockets,whotriumphantlyreturnedhomewithRichford’sfirst-evergirls’soccertitle,
