Whereas,Vermont’sparkandrecreationprogramsareanintegralpartof
ourStateandlocalcommunities, and
Whereas,theirpresenceinacommunitypromotesanactivelifestyle,offers
environmentalprotection,andservesasaneconomicresource, and
Whereas,parkandrecreationprogramssupporttheeffectivenessof
therapeuticrecreationalservicesforpersonswithdisabilities, and
Whereas,in1985,theNationalRecreationandParkAssociationestablished
JulyasParkandRecreationMonth,and,in2009,theU.S.Houseof
RepresentativesadoptedH.R.288,aresolution“Recognizingtheimportance
ofparkandrecreationfacilitiesandexpressingsupportforthedesignationof
themonthofJulyas‘NationalParkandRecreationMonth,’”
now therefore be it
ResolvedbytheSenateandHouseofRepresentatives:
ThattheGeneralAssemblyrecognizesJuly2025asParkandRecreation
MonthinVermontanddesignatesJuly18,2025asVermontParkand
RecreationProfessionalsDay, and be it further
Resolved:ThattheSecretaryofStatebedirectedtosendacopyofthis
resolutiontotheVermontRecreationandParksAssociation.
