deliciousanduniquelypreparedItaliancuisine,anditwasoperatedwithastrongsenseofthecommunity’s
welfare, and
Whereas,bornonMarch18,1955inRutland,TonyRomeograduatedfromMountSt.JosephAcademyand
earnedanassociate’sdegreeinbusinessadministrationfromtheformerCollegeofSt.Joseph, and
Whereas,asahighschoolandcollegestudent,TonyRomeowasemployedatTed’sPizzaShop,andin1975,
upongraduatingfromtheCollegeofSt.Joseph,heandseveralfamilymemberspurchasedtherestaurant,
launchingarespectedfoodindustrycareer, and
Whereas,TonyRomeorecognizedtheallureanddelectabilityofTed’sPizza’ssignatureproduct,and,while
maintainingtheuniquecharacteristicsofTed’spizzapiesandslices,hepromotedaspecialstyleofspaghetti,
homemademeatballs,grinders,salads,andItaliandressings, and
Whereas,hispersonalandcorporategenerositywasmanifestedthroughfoodandmonetarydonationsto
veteran’sorganizations,schools,andsportsteamsandwasexemplifiedinTed’sPizzahostingradiostation
WSYB’sannualChristmasfundraisingbroadcast, and
Whereas,theciviclifeofRutlandhasbenefitedfromhisservinginmanyleadershiproles,including
currentlyastheRutlandCityWardClerkofElectionsinWard6;asaRutlandCityPoliceCommissioner;and
asamemberoftheRutlandCountyAgriculturalSociety’sboardofdirectors,theorganizationthatoverseesthe
VermontStateFair, and
Whereas,inDecember2024,TonyRomeoconcludedhislifeasarestauranterextraordinaire,andonMarch
15,2025,TonyRomeo;hiswifeof48years,Julia;hischildrenandgrandchildren;andmanyotherfamilieswill
joyouslycelebratehiscareeratTed’sPizzaandhis70thbirthday,nowtherefore be it
