decisivegame,butthatwastheSeahorses’legacy,andin2025,theyweredeterminedtoendthisprolonged
droughtonbothscores,and
Whereas,fieldingatalentedthird-seededteam,BurlingtontippedoffattheUniversityofVermont’sPatrick
Gymnasiumbeforeacheeringhometowncrowdagainstthetop-seededSt.JohnsburyAcademyHilltoppers,and
Whereas,BurlingtonemergedontothecourtafterWandaHines,aspecialfanandsupporter,andaSeahorses
MVPin1975and1976(thelasttwoyearstheteamwonadivisionalchampionship),deliveredaninspiringpre-
gamepeptalktotheplayers,and
Whereas,thehighlymotivatedSeahorseswereincommandthroughoutthegame,developingafirst-quarter
18-pointlead,andwithtwoofthegirlsscoring20pointseach,the53–33victorywasmostsatisfyingbut
