Whereas,theheightandprowessoftheThetfordAcademybasketballsquad
werevividlyondisplayatthe2025DivisionIIIchampionshipgameplayedat
theBarreAuditorium,inwhichthesecond-seededPanthersmetthefifth-
seededHazenUnionWildcats, and
Whereas,Thetfordpowerfullydominatedtheon-courtactionfromthe
openingtipoffuntilthefinalmomentofcompetition, and
Whereas,atonepointinthesecondquarter,thePanthers,whomaintained
theleadthroughoutthecontest,heldanoverwhelming28–7scoringadvantage
overtheWildcats,andalthoughtheWildcatswereabletoreducetheenormity
oftheThetfordlead,thefinalresultwasneverindoubtasthePanthers(21–3)
departedforhomewiththeDivisionIIIcrownandasolid58–44victory,and
Whereas,PanthersMatthewVivian,LiamMurphy,DempseyMcGovern,
HunterClay,BraxtonAdams,WilliamPhelps,DillonVance,LiamBrooks,
TommyAmber,SamParkman,MatthewMcGovern,SpencerDurkee,and
ConnorSloopprovedtheirchampionshipcredentials, and
Whereas,HeadCoachJasonGrayandassistantcoachesAlexEmerson,
AndyMartin,andOwenDeffnerwereidealadvisersthroughoutthe2024–
2025season,nowtherefore be it
ResolvedbytheSenateandHouseofRepresentatives:
ThattheGeneralAssemblycongratulatestheThetfordAcademyPanthers
DivisionIIIboys’basketballteamontheirsecondconsecutivechampionship,
and be it further
Resolved:ThattheSecretaryofStatebedirectedtosendacopyofthis
resolutiontoThetfordAcademy
