Remedial Legislation
2023 Wisconsin Act 256 is remedial legislation introduced by the Law Revision Committee, at the
request of the Department of Corrections, that changes the name of an adult correctional institution.
Specifically, the act changes the name of an adult correctional institution at the location that was the
Lincoln Hills School and Copper Lake School from “Lincoln County Correctional Institution” to
“Lincoln Correctional Institution.”
Effective date: March 31, 2024
