AN ACT to amend 20.285 (1) (sp) (title); and to create 20.285 (1) (at) and 36.25
(58) of the statutes; relating to: funding for the Wisconsin Institute for
Sustainable Technology at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and
making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System
to provide funding to the Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable Technology at
UW-Stevens Point to broaden the institute's support for, and further technical
contributions to, the state's forest and paper industries and for the institute's
ongoing operations. The bill creates an appropriation from the general fund for this
purpose.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SECTION 1. 20.005 (3) (schedule) of the statutes: at the appropriate place, insert
the following amounts for the purposes indicated:

SECTION 2. 20.285 (1) (at) of the statutes is created to read:
20.285 (1) (at) Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable Technology. The amounts
in the schedule to support the Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable Technology as
provided in s. 36.25 (58).
SECTION 3. 20.285 (1) (sp) (title) of the statutes is amended to read:
20.285 (1) (sp) (title) Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable Technology; other
funding.
SECTION 4. 36.25 (58) of the statutes is created to read:
36.25 (58) INSTITUTE FOR SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF
WISCONSIN-STEVENS POINT. From the appropriation under s. 20.285 (1) (at), the Board
of Regents shall provide funding to the Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable
Technology at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to broaden the institute's
support for, and further technical contributions to, the state's forest and paper
industries and for the institute's ongoing operations.
