2023 Senate Bill 159 Senate Amendment 1
2023 SENATE BILL 159
2023 Senate Bill 159 requires the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to prepare a biennial work
plan that establishes priorities and goals for habitat work on DNR-managed lands and measures
progress on the established goals and priorities. DNR must annually report its progress on habitat work
plan goals to the Natural Resources Board.
SENATE AMENDMENT 1
Senate Amendment 1 requires DNR to annually report its progress on habitat work plan goals to the
Joint Committee on Finance and the relevant legislative standing committees, as well as to the Natural
Resources Board.
BILL HISTORY
On May 30, 2023, the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Energy recommended passage of
the bill on a vote of Ayes, 5; Noes, 0. Senator Quinn offered Senate Amendment 1 on June 5, 2023. On
June 7, 2023, the Senate adopted the amendment and passed the bill, as amended, on voice votes.
