The bill also repeals the provisions of current law that prohibit the Higher Educational Aids Board (HEAB) and the University of Wisconsin System (UWS) from providing state financial assistance to a person required to register with the federal Selective Service system who is not so registered. Under the current Wisconsin Grant program and the Talent Incentive Grant program, a student generally may receive a grant for up to 10 semesters. The bill increases the number of semesters a student generally may receive under these programs to 12. ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1 Assembly Amendment 1 modifies the bill in regard to the number of semesters a student generally may receive a Wisconsin Grant or Talent Incentive grant to the current 10 semesters from the 12 semesters established by the bill.
