Requesting the Division of Highways name Bridge Number: 52-013/00-004.64 () (52A039), (39.67254, -80.45228) locally known as Hundred Covered Bridge, carrying CR 013 over WV Fork Fish Creek in Wetzel County, the "PFC Charles 'Charlie' Goff Memorial Bridge".
Whereas, Charles "Charlie" Goff lived a life of distinction worthy of remembrance; and
Whereas, Charlie was born on March 12, 1933; and
Whereas, Charlie was a born and bred West Virginian who hailed from Rowlesburg in Preston County; and
Whereas, Charlie served his country well as soldier in the United States Army and achieved the rank of Private First Class; and
Whereas, PFC Goff’s most significant duty assignment was as a member of C Company, 15th Tank Battalion, 6th Armored Division; and
Whereas, PFC Goff served until he was honorably discharged from the Army; and
Whereas, PFC Goff passed away on August 24th, 2024, to the great sadness of his family and friends; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Division of Highways name Bridge Number: 52-013/00-004.64 () (52A039), (39.67254, -80.45228) locally known as Hundred Covered Bridge, carrying CR 013 over WV Fork Fish Creek in Wetzel County, the "PFC Charles "Charlie" Goff Memorial Bridge," and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Division of Highways is hereby requested to have made and be placed signs identifying the bridge as the "PFC Charles 'Charlie' Goff Memorial Bridge"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House forward a copy of this resolution to the Commissioner of the Division of Highways.
