Requesting the Division of Highways name bridge number 52-250/12-000.02 (5A102), at Lat./Long. (39.68344, -80.45906), locally known as Church Fork Bridge, carrying US 250 over Church Fork Creek in Wetzel County, the "U.S. Army Private Terry F. Tustin Memorial Bridge".
Whereas, Terry F. Tustin was born to Ray "Newt" Tustin and Aline Postlethwait Tustin on November 12, 1944, in the town of Hundred in Wetzel County as one of the eleven children, eight of whom were sons, and seven of those sons served in the United States military; and
Whereas, Private Terry Tustin enlisted in the United States Army on August 9, 1965; and
Whereas, Private Terry Tustin served in the United States Army, fighting in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967, through which he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Ribbon, and Sharpshooter (rifle); and
Whereas, Private Terry Tustin then transferred to the US Army Reserve Control Group in St. Louis, Missouri to finish his commitment ; and
Whereas, Private Terry Tustin retired from Boilermakers Local Union 667 and was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 for over 50 years and he was the father of four daughters, grandfather to nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and
Whereas, Private Terry Tustin resided on Stewart Street in Hundred, and died on December 12, 2017; and
Whereas, It is fitting that an enduring memorial be established to commemorate Private Terry F. Tustin and his contributions to our state and country; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Division of Highways is hereby requested to name bridge number 2-250/12-000.02 (5A102), at Lat./Long. (39.68344, -80.45906), locally known as Church Fork Bridge, carrying US 250 over Church Fork Creek in Wetzel County, the "U.S. Army Private Terry F. Tustin Memorial Bridge"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Division of Highways is hereby requested to have made and be placed signs identifying the bridge as the "U.S. Army Private Terry F. Tustin Memorial Bridge"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Commissioner of the Division of Highways.
