Sponsored by: Joint Transportation, Highways & Military Affairs Interim Committee A BILL for 1 AN ACT relating to motor vehicles; requiring rear-facing 2 child safety restraint systems for children younger than 3 two (2) years old or under the weight or height limits 4 specified for the particular child safety restraint system; 5 clarifying the placement of child safety restraint systems 6 in front of active airbags; and providing for an effective 7 date. 8 9 10 11W.S. 31-5-1303(a) is amended to read: 12 13 14 15 2025STATE OF WYOMING25LSO-00762HB00261 (a) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b) of 2 this section, no person shall operate a passenger vehicle 3 in this state unless each child who is a passenger in that 4 vehicle and who has not reached 5 is properly secured in a child safety 6 restraint system in a seat of the vehicle other than the 7 front seat, except if the vehicle is only equipped with one 8 (1) row of seats, or if all safety belts in the rows of 9 seats behind the front seat are in use by other child 10 passengers in the vehicle, child may be properly 11 secured in a child safety restraint system in the front 12 passenger seat of the vehicle, except that a rear-facing 13 shall not be 14 placed in front of an active airbag. 15 16 17 18 19 20 21.
