FISCAL NOTE
The fiscal impact, in the form of potential General Fund expenditure increases for
convening special sessions, is indeterminable.
These potential General Fund expenditure increases would depend on the frequency
of public health emergencies declared by the Governor and the type and duration of
special sessions held by the Wyoming Legislature.
The cost of the 2020 Special Session (held virtually) was approximately $72,000.
The cost of the 2021 Special Session (held in person) was $233,146, which included
legislator salary, per diem, mileage, the cost of part-time session staff, and
logistical costs.
The Governor’s Office indicated that this bill would have no significant fiscal or
personnel impact to the Governor’s Office.
