1 AN ACT relating to crimes and offenses; creating the crime
2 of trespass by drone; providing penalties; and providing
3 for an effective date.

7. W.S. 6-3-308 is created to read:

11 (a) Except as otherwise permitted by law, a person is
12 guilty of criminal trespass by drone if the person causes a
13 drone to operate at an altitude of two hundred (200) feet
14 or lower over the private land or residence of another
15 person without authorization by the landowner or resident 2025STATE OF WYOMING25LSO-06062HB0251
1 or pursuant to a court order. For purposes of this section,
2 "drone" means an unmanned aircraft weighing not more than
3 fifty-five (55) pounds on takeoff, including everything
4 that is on board or otherwise attached to the unmanned
5 aircraft.

7 (b) Criminal trespass by drone is a misdemeanor
8 punishable by imprisonment for not more than six (6)
9 months, a fine of not more than seven hundred fifty dollars
10 ($750.00), or both.
