Repeal of Medicaid birth cost bureaucracy.25LSO-0518, 1.0 HB0309 FISCAL NOTE FY 2026FY 2027FY 2028NON-ADMINISTRATIVE IMPACTAnticipated Revenue (decrease)GENERAL FUND($100,000)($100,000)($100,000) Source of revenue (decrease): The source of the revenue decrease is the repeal of the Birth Cost Recovery Program in the form of cost recovery revenue. Assumptions: The Wyoming Department of Health (WDH)recovers some birth recovery costs through Medicaid, both directly from clients and through the Wyoming Department of Family Services (DFS). The WDH estimates this bill would result in a $100,000 revenue decrease to the General Fund per fiscal year. The DFS estimates that approximately $75,300 related to staff time has been expended each year meeting the requirements of the Birth Cost Recovery Program.
