Unpaved roads speed limits-amendments.

A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to speed limits; authorizing local
2 authorities to set maximum speed limits on unpaved roadways
3 without first conducting a speed study or justifying the
4 maximum speed limit; requiring rulemaking; and providing
5 for effective dates.

10 subsection (f) is amended to read:

2n compliance with rules promulgated by the
3 department, local authorities in their respective
4 jurisdictions may determine the proper maximum speed for
5 all streets and highways within their respective corporate
6 jurisdiction which maximum speed is reasonable and safe and
7 which may be greater or less than the maximum speed
8 permitted under this act. The rules promulgated by the
9 department shall adopt standards consistent with national
10 practices.

21The department of transportation shall
22 promulgate any rules necessary to implement this act.

3 (a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this
4 section, this act is effective July 1, 2025.
5
6 (b) Sections 2 and 3 of this act are effective
7 immediately upon completion of all acts necessary for a
8 bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of
9 the Wyoming Constitution.
