3 (i) "Music therapist" means a person who holds
4 an active music therapist board certified credential
5 granted by the certification board for music therapists;
6
7 (ii) "Music therapy" means the clinical and
8 evidence based use of music interventions to accomplish
9 individualized goals for persons of all ages and ability
10 levels that are delivered during the course of a
11 therapeutic relationship.

15 (a) It is unlawful for a person to profess to be a
16 music therapist or advertise in any form or hold themselves
17 out to the public as a music therapist, board certified
18 music therapist or use the initials "MT-BC" or any other
19 words, letters, abbreviations or insignia indicating or
20 implying that the person is a music therapist unless the
21 person holds and maintains a music therapist board
22 certified credential granted by the certification board for

2 (b) This chapter shall not prohibit a person from
3 using music in the performance of the person's profession
4 or occupation if the person does not represent that they
5 are a music therapist.
